अज्ञ: सुखमाराध्य: सुखतरमाराध्यते विशेषज्ञ:, ज्ञानलवदुर्विदग्धं ब्रह्मापि च तं नरं न रंजयति॥
ना समझ को समझाना बहुत् आसान है, ज्ञानवान को समझाना और भी आसान है , पर थोड़े से ज्ञान से स्वयम को पण्डित मानाने वाले अल्पज्ञ को ब्रह्मा भी सन्तुष्ट् नहीं कर सकते ।
An ignorant person is easy to please> It is still easier to please a man of learning , but even the god brahmaa can not please a man who is partial talented.
प्रसह्य मणिमुद्धरेन्मकरवक्त्रदंष्ट्राब्तरात्, समुद्रमपि सन्तरेत् प्रचलदूर्मिमालाकुलम्
भुजंगमपि कोपितं शिरसि पुष्पवद् धारयेत्, न तु प्रतिनिविष्ट-मूर्खजनचित्तमाराधयेत् ॥
मगरमच्छ के मुख की दाढों के बीच से मणि को साहस करके निकालना सम्भव है , वेगवती लहरों से उफ़नते समुद्रको भी तैर कर पार करना सम्भव है। क्रुद्ध नागराज को भी सिर् पर पुष्प माला की तरह धाराण किया जा सकता है। किन्तु दुर्गुण में फ़ँसे मूर्ख आदमी के चित्त को सद्गुणों की ओर मोड़ना आसान नहीं ।
